Mission
East Lyme Regional Theater builds community and enriches lives through engagement in the arts.

History
East Lyme Regional Theater was established in May 2010, with full support of East Lyme Parks & Recreation Department. With the goal of building community and enriching lives through the arts, we set out to create a vibrant musical theater experience that would engage people of all ages.

Our initial production, This Memory of Mine, created by Artistic Director Erin Sousa-Stanley, was performed at East Lyme High School in August, 2010. This musical revue provided the momentum needed to achieve our goal of producing a full scale musical each year. Subsequent shows have been, Children of Eden, The Wiz, and Once on This Island. Audiences have enthusiastically endorsed our productions, and we are proud of the number of families that have returned each year to participate.

The success of the program has inspired an expansion project now underway, with the addition of a summer camp and classes in theater arts. This expansion resumes a tradition in family theater that was established many years ago with the former East Lyme Arts Council and East Lyme Children’s Theater. It is our vision to launch a program that promotes self-confidence, artistic expression and teamwork, while providing positive family entertainment and involvement.
